World Sand Sculptures Championship - 13th edition
Period:From August the 8th to September the 12th 2010
Spires, castles, towers standing out against the clouds, figures that seem about to come to life any minute. We’re not talking about the latest Walt Disney movie but about the World Sand Sculptures Championship for Countries taking place every year at Cervia Cervia Beach Park, the big beach stadium placed on the public beach. Forget about works of art made with brushes, colours and clay! Art can also be expressed through sand, provided that the grains are amalgamated with plenty of water and creativity. In Cervia different countries from all over the world come together, discovering the importance of simplicity. As Oscar Wilde put it, simple pleasures are the last resort of complex souls. So, about twenty champions divided into ten twosomes from all over the world meet on the Adriatic coast in a stadium that can host over 2,000 spectators – the only stadium in Italy capable of hosting beach games. Grain by grain they will ‘build’ an unforgettable event. This event – unique for Italy – is part of other important world ‘sand sculptures’ events organized in the U.S. and in the East. Among the participant countries that took part in the previous editions of Cervia's championship: the U.S., Morocco, Spain, Belgium, Russia, Netherlands, India. Italian artists are also well represented.
Salt Festival - 14th edition
Period:From September the 10th to the 12th 2010
Although nowadays salt is one of the most common ingredients on our table, in the past it used to be so rare and precious that people used to call it 'white gold' because it was fundamental for the preservation of food.
Therefore it is easy to imagine how Cervia was linked with this product and with its over 800 ha of saltpans.
The purpose of this event is to remember and celebrate Cervia's past and 'dedicate' a celebration to the precious salt, re-enacting the past traditions and proposing various themed attractions: exhibitions, historical re-enactment of the traditional salt delivery, music and performances.
European Market - 7th edition

This event that has been hosted over the years by cities such as Manchester, Saragossa, Florence and Trieste, took place for the first time in Strasbourg in 1990.

International Sprint Kite News - 20th edition
Period:From September the 25th to the 26th 2010
Cervia - free beach
The International Sprint Kite News is becoming more and more popular for stunt kites lovers. Stunt kites and all sort of traction kites swarm in the sky of Cervia beach. It is also a good opportunity to spend a wonderful weekend on Cervia's wide beaches that have been expressly turned into a flight area for stunt kites. The event, part of the schedule of Cervia Volante Club, is meant to gather and confront all the followers of this peculiar sport, which has been growing and growing over the past years. The event is dedicated to Kite-Surfing (the kite-flyer ploughs the waves on a surf-board pulled by a kite), Kite-Jumping (the long jumper hangs on a kite) and Buggyng (a sort of trike pulled by one or more kites). The athletes of these sports are required to know the conditions of the wind and be well aware of their physical strength, since the kite, given its big size, has a very big drawing power. The event commemorates the tradition of the handicraft kite, loved by all children, but also displays the applications that such a flying dream can offer thanks to the development and use of technological materials and engineering. Each year Italian and foreign kite flyers long for this event, a big non-competitive open-air amazing exhibition.
