Bologna Golf Club - Crespellano Bologna Italy
One of the classic Italian courses, designed by Cotton & Harris and built in 1959, the golf club is situated on splendid rolling countryside with marvellous sweeping panoramic views across the surrounding hills and plains.
Its layout is constantly being up dated and in recent years, it has played host to the Italian Amateur Championships many times as well as to a great number of top level professional competitions. The smart and elegant clubhouse blends in well with the surrounding countryside and is the ideal place to sample the refined cuisine of the club restaurant, which has been named amongst the top ten club restaurants in Italy on more than one occasion.
In addition, the club boasts an attractive outdoor swimming pool and a well equipped childrens corner. In 2000, Peter Alliss made some changes to the course.
TECHNICAL DATA: 18 holes, par 72, 5,949 metres, inaugurated in 1959, designed by Cotton & Harris, partly restyled by Peter Alliss, 116 metres above sea level.
FACILITIES: driving range, pitching green, putting green, golf carts, club and trolley hire, golf school, pro shop, instructors available, bar, restaurant, swimming pool, children's corner, car park and locker rooms.
SEASON: open all year round, closed on Mondays (except bank holidays).
HOW TO GET THERE: Take the Bologna Casalecchio exit on the A1 motorway then follow the SSS 569 Bazzanese road towards Vignola Maranello. Carry straight on for about 9 km. At the last roundabout, follow signs for Vignola Bazzano and drive over the flyover. Just before the end of the flyover, turn left and follow signs for Ponte Ronca. After 300 metres, turn right for Bologna Golf Club.
